STUDIO BRIEF 03 - PLUG

This collaborative idea works to unite all creatives in the area. The name plug is deriving as another term for collaboration and creation. 

IDEA: Any creative can post to the social media account either Instagram or Behance. The best possible designs will be selected to post, also tagging the authors Instagram as free publicity, whilst also promoting the brand Plug into demonstrating the creativity in Leeds. Essentially acting as a creative hub for local designers and eventually a wider reach. Using the Leeds email system the university could send a chain email advertising this new profile so the idea can be in partnership with Leeds College of Art. Thus broadening it's exposure. The university could create free advertising for the brand, so student's all around the university can be made aware. 

£: There would be no price or funding involved as it's all social media based. Eventually if it becomes a popular profile, talks could be made to sell prints on an exclusive website, with majority of proceeds going to the designer who created the specific print. The printing and posting plus an additional labour cost will be subtracted from their final fee as it needs to be considered the designer is being paid for the creation, labour costs should be taken from this, but majority of proceeds still fall to the producer. 

So this is not necessarily a 2 or 3 man collaboration, this is effectively a collaboration with all creatives in Leeds specifically Leeds College of Art who would like to share their creations on a wider scale. It is a win win for every party involved. With the universities help it could grow in popularity. 


What this opportunity could mean for myself? Greater scope and communications with creatives in Leeds and the university. Building effective relationships now is important, for contacts to have in the industry after your studies. This is an opportunity to do just that. Which will overall benefit me later on in my practice.
