I have been doing on and off designs for KIDS FROM MARS for a few years now, being involved with the website design, logo design and clothing. My recent collaboration is for a shirt in his collection.
The brief was to create a Liberty Paisley print for a white shirt all in which will be hand sewn. I was in constant communication with the owner of the clothing brand on how he wanted this to be and the specific colour scheme he wants.
I made a few colour choices just in case to broaden the selection process.
This was the final design chosen, the product is now for sale and is selling moderately well so far, the high price margin could be the reason for this however the costs of having everything hand sewn allows the price range to be increased.
As a style it is not necessarily what I would go for but this brief was more about appealing to the clients needs and creating something for the client, he left specific instructions which needed to be taken into consideration, this lessens the research period. Overall I am happy with the design and most importantly the client is happy so overall this brief has been a success.
